How I Cured My Candida

One Woman's Story How She Beat Candida Yeast Infection

Probiotics With Candida Diet

Eighth Step: Add Friendly Bacteria with Probiotics

Probiotics With Candida DietThis is the time to add good bacteria into my system. I have learned to eat  nutritious meals with foods that are allowed on  Candida Diet, cleansed my intestines and  I have killed Candida overgrowth with anti-fungals.

Now I will begin taking a good probiotic to establish my bowels with friendly intestinal flora. This will keep parasites and Candida away.  The right probiotic supplement has to contain large quantities of lacto bifidus and acidophilus.

It is essential to have the right slightly alkaline pH level in the colon, because if the environment is too acidic the friendly bacteria will be killed and the probiotic will have no effect. So I am still eating lots of alkaline foods.

Prebiotics – What is that?

Prebiotics are food for Probiotics. The more you nourish the probiotics in your gut, the better they will survive and grow, and  the healthier your immune system will be. Prebiotics help probiotics survive the journey through stomach acids to the intestines where they are needed.

Good news is that it is easy to add prebiotics in to the system by eating prebiotic foods: tomatoes, garlic, onions, leeks, asparagus, herbs and green tea.

All this and a lot more helpful information about how to cure yeast infection and Candida is in the book called ‘Yeast Infection No More’ by Linda Allen. I recommend this book, it saved me so much time and money and helped me on my way to get healthy again. It actually helped me to keep calm and focused in this stream of contradicting information about the Candida Diet.

Curing Candida – One Last Supplement

Last Supplement in Curing Candida – Candigest Plus

I am in the last phase of killing Candida. I took the anti-fungals – Olive leaf extract and Oil of oregano – each for 2 weeks and had a 2 week break after each.  Now I am taking the last Candida killing supplement called Candigest Plus. Hopefully this will be the end of Candida outbreak for me! I will be taking a Candida test soon after this 30 day course of Candigest is over.

Candigest Plus

Candigest Plus is an extremely potent supplement. It has cellulase enzymes that digest the cellulose in Candida and kill the yeast. And what’s great about it too, it causes no die-off symptoms because it contains no anti-fungals! Candigest Plus also contains an enzyme called protease that will digest the interior cell of Candida as well. This supplement should get rid of most systemic yeast infections and its symptoms in 30 days. Some people may need to take it for 2 months but I hope I am not one of them! The instructions mention that Candigest Plus should not be taken by people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease such as Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis.

I am taking 2 capsules in the morning an hour before breakfast and then another 2 at night just before going to sleep, at least 2 hours after eating. I don’t have any die-off symptoms as the product promises. Actually I feel pretty good.

About Food and Diet

Curing Candida – One Last Supplement

After 14 weeks of candida diet I am at the stage where I am anxious to start adding more foods to my diet. I have been very strict about sugar, wheat and gluten, dairy, fruit and even starchy vegetables and I really would love to start eating some of those foods again. Mostly fruit, all vegetables and some dairy such as cottage cheese! I don’t think sugar will be on my list of foods to eat anytime soon. I don’t even miss it, but some natural alternatives like honey and agave syrup would be nice to add into some dishes. I am diligently avoiding all preservatives and additives. This means that I have basically made or cooked everything I eat from scratch. It takes time and effort but I have learned to eat so much tastier food with ingredients that were previously unknown to me.

I have learned about raw food, vegan food and acid-alkaline diets. All very interesting and beneficial to add to one’s eating routine. You don’t have to become a full blown raw foodist or veganist to benefit from those kind of foods by substituting some meals with raw or vegetarian foods.

Supplements to Boost Immunity – Essential for Candida Cure

Supplements and Vitamins  Needed to help The Body To Heal and Cure Candida

Now it is the time for me to start boosting my immunity. I need all the help I can get from available vitamins and supplements. The thing is that I haven’t eaten many vitamins, only some C and a bit of B when I felt I needed it. But not regularly. Maybe I should have, since Candida has taken over my insides!

Third Step: Supplements and Vitamins

This will be a pretty long list of pills and powders, but I’m going to use all of them during my Candida treatment to get the maximum benefit. I really want to make sure that I do everything I can to get rid of this internal yeast infection for good.

1. Vitamins

  • Vitamin C 1000 mg / day
  • Vitamin B – it needs to be a Complex one with most vitamin Bs.

2. Vitamins from Foods

  • Vitamin A – this is best to be eaten from foods such as spinach, silverbeet and other dark leafy vegetables. Later when I can have fruit and starchy vegetables, I’ll eat  carrots, mangoes, peaches and oranges which all contain vitamin A.
  • Vitamin E – I’ll get enough vitamin E from avocado, celery, leek, lettuce, parsnip, spinach, cabbage and Bryssel sprouts. I just have to remember to eat them!

3. Essential Fatty Acids – omega 3, 6 and 9

  • Fish oil – I’m having Krill oil, some say it’s the best kind.
  • Flaxseed oil – I drizzle flaxseed oil on salad or vegetables once a day.
  • Olive oil – I eat this usually with salads, not as a separate supplement.
  • Coconut oil  – I eat 2-3 Tbs of coconut oil a day. I drink it with lemon and hot water, or I make myself a treat from pure raw cacao, coconut oil, a bit of stevia and few drops of Young Living Peppermint essential oil!

4. Supplements

  • Colostrum – supports immune system
  • Milk Thistle or St. Mary’s Thistle – great support for liver detoxing.
  • L-Glutamine powder -  body requires more glutamine than it can naturally generate in times of stress like recovery and killing Candida.
  • Thymulus – helps support healthy thyroid function.
  • Zinc – helps fight infection.
  • Chlorella – this is essential since it helps flush out toxins from the body! It contains Chlorophyll, dark green plant nutrient that is believed to have powerful cleansing properties.
  • Good Probiotic with acidophilus and bifidus – puts back good bacteria in the digestive tract. I’m using Adult Formula CP-1 from Immunecare.

5. Herbal Teas

On top of the supplements I also drink some herbal teas:

  • Dandelion Root tea – I try to drink it once a day, but forget to do it often – I don’t really like it.
  • Peppermint tea
  • Ginger tea
  • Liquorice tea
  • Pau D’arco – anti-fungal tea

6. BM Help

  • Aloe Vera Juice – 20 ml on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning
  • Bentonite Clay – 15 ml
  • Psyllium Hulls Combination – 1-3 tsp / day
I start taking these when I feel constipated. The toxins really should get out of the body at least once a day!

These supplements are making me feel well. If you’d like to read more about what these vitamins and supplements are doing to the body and why they are important in treating Candida, you have all the information in Linda Allen’s book ‘Yeast Infection No More ‘.
