How I Cured My Candida

One Woman's Story How She Beat Candida Yeast Infection

Changing the Diet – Eliminating Candida Friendly Foods

Starting my Candida treatment…

I found a great book about how to cure Candida. It is called  “Yeast Infection No More”. I have read the whole book now and I’m beginning to understand what I will have to do during the next say 3-4 months. There will be about 9 steps that have to be done or applied. Some of them take only a few days, some of them are to be continued for life. But the good news is that taking all these steps and applying them to my life, I will be for ever healthier, more energetic and able to resist better other serious illnesses that lurk around people.

First Step : Candida Diet

Eliminating Candida Feeding Foods

Candida grows in over-acidic digestive system, it loves toxic foods such as refined carbohydrates. Therefore in order to beat Candida, you have to cut out completely sugar, white flour, white rice, yeast products, gluten, all dairy products, coffee, alcohol and even starchy vegetables, such as potato and carrot, for the duration of the program. And no fruit either, until the Candida is killed! Fruit are sweet and contain fructose, so I won’t be eating bananas for a while. Everything processed, frozen or canned needs to be cut from the diet.
This sounds very strict and it is, I wonder how I will manage to eat well!

Foods You Can Eat With Candida Diet

*Avocados, lemon, limes, sprouts, vegetables (non starchy), especially good are green leafy vegetables, celery, cucumber, parsley, lettuce, broccoli.
*Non-gluten whole grains, such as buckwheat, millet, quinoa, amaranth and long brown rice.
*Sprouted beans, nuts but only almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts and pine nuts – in small quantities and fresh.
Peanuts have easily mold which is something Candida thrives on, so no peanuts for me.
*Eat lots of herbs, leaves and garlic.
*Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds are fine, a good snack. – I went to the movies and was munching on pumpkin seeds while others were having popcorn. Sounds pathetic, but actually it wasn’t that bad!

*I stopped using all other oils, margarine and fats but extra virgin olive oil and virgin coconut oil, which I have about 3 tablespoons every day and use for cooking and frying too. It can stand heat a lot better than olive oil, it won’t oxidize and release free radicals to wreck havoc in my system like other cooking oils.

*Lean organic red meat is ok to have occasionally. Even better is organic chicken and fish. Eggs I eat as well, but I buy the best free range or organic ones only.

*The most important point is: to drink filtered or mineral water at least 2 liters every day!
Water will flush the toxins out of the body and help the healing process.

I have made a proper list of all the foods that I eat during my Candida treatment program and I’ve put them on this page:

Bon appetit!
