I had the Candida test done at the Health Expo by a naturopath with a quick test where they took a drop of blood from the tip of my finger. It took about 5 minutes to get the result. Here is the picture of the test kit that was used:
But the diagnosis was so upsetting to me that I went online to find out more about the condition. And I found another way to test for Candida. I had to do it as well, because I did not believe truly that I had it. This test is cheap as it doesn’t cost anything and it can be done alone at home. It is called Candida Spit test or Saliva test.
Free Candida Spit Test
This is how you do the free Candida Spit test at home:
Fill a glass with filtered water in the evening. When you wake up in the morning, don’t put anything to your mouth, not even on your lips. Even though your mouth is dry, work up enough saliva in the mouth and spit in the glass of water. There should be a good amount of saliva. See how the saliva looks like and reacts when it touches the water.
Also check the glass after 2 minutes and after 15 minutes. Check again after 1 hour,
after which you can throw the water in the sink.
Healthy saliva will be clear, it will float on top and it will slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness and without sinking.
If your saliva forms leg like strings that travel into the water you may have a mild Candida condition.
If your saliva sinks to the bottom it means that you probably have an advanced systematic Candida yeast infection.
Guess what I had – my spit went to the bottom like a rock and also made huge strings in the middle of the glass. It looked really gross! Since I had two tests done and they both showed me Candida signs, I had to believe it – I have Candida albicans overgrowth.
If you do the home saliva test, remember that it is not 100% accurate. I recommend having other medical tests done as well, just to be sure that you are not self diagnosing something that isn’t there.
